Cure for papillomas: means removing them

Papilloma on a woman's neck

Papillomas are benign neoplasms located on the surface of the skin and mucous membranes, having the appearance of a papillary protuberance located on a thin "leg". This disease is associated with the human papillomavirus. The resulting papillomas can be bruised, painful and cause external defects. In this case, a natural question arises about its removal. Next we will talk about medications for removing papillomas.

The human papillomavirus is far from a harmless representative of the viral flora. Not only does it cause the formation of papillomas and warts, but this pathogen sometimes leads to the occurrence of malignant neoplasms, in particular cervical cancer. In 2019, scientists published a study in which they found that the population has little knowledge about the human papillomavirus, its transmission routes, consequences and prevention measures.

Local medicines

Application of topical medication to remove papilloma

First, let's look at drugs developed specifically for removing papillomas. We emphasize that before using them you should consult a specialist.

The first medicine is a liquid for external use, which contains two components - metacresol and phenol. It must be applied pointwise to the affected areas of the skin or mucous membranes with a special stick, avoiding contact with adjacent areas of the skin. For small papillomas, as a rule, a single application is sufficient; for larger ones, repeated applications (3-4 times) at intervals of several minutes may be necessary.

How does this medicine work? The components included in the solution lead to the coagulation of skin proteins, as a result of which papillomas disappear.

Another commonly used preparation is a liquid made from sodium bicarbonate, sodium chloride, and sodium hydroxide. It also has a cauterizing effect, allowing you to effectively remove not only papillomas, but also warts, genital warts, etc.

Additionally, a solution containing:

  • nitric acid;
  • Acetic Acid;
  • lactic acid;
  • oxalic acid dihydrate;
  • copper nitrate trihydrate.

It belongs to local necrotizing drugs, promotes the destruction of pathologically altered tissues. This product is also applied pointwise to the affected area. If necessary, the processing is repeated several times.

Systemic therapy

Local medicines alone are not enough to effectively combat papillomas. To prevent relapses, systemic therapy should be carried out, namely, taking medications that have an antiviral and immunomodulatory effect.

An example is inosine acedobene dimepranol. This medicine is active against the human papillomavirus, helps to suppress it in the body and has an immunostimulating effect.

We emphasize once again that before using any medication, you should consult a specialist.
